Experimental Investigation on Performances of Battered Piles Resisting Embankment-Induced Lateral Soil Movement

چکیده

The performance of passive battered piles resisting the embankment-induced lateral soil movements may differ from that active pile and axially loaded existing vertical adjacent to embankment constructions. This study was part a preliminary feasibility investigation for reinforcement plan an actual project, aiming experimentally investigate under movement. To this end, sequence reduced-scale model tests near surcharges first designed in sandy with similarity ratio 1:30. effects inclinations (β = −20°, −10°, 0°, +10°, +20°), surcharge magnitudes, constraint conditions at tip (free-tip fixed-tip) on responses were explored. Finally, response characteristics movement analyzed clarify working mechanism these piles.
